Original title: At the end of the Vietnam War, these poor children are the U.S. military left behind the U.S.-Vietnamese mixed race

When the last U.S. servicemen fled Saigon on April 30, 1975, they were left behind by a war-scarred country, the The Vietnamese people and their own children who were uncertain about their future. The children, some of whom are white and some of whom are black, were born to American military men and barmams, cleaning women, laundry women, and female laborers responsible for filling sandbags to protect the U.S. base, a group of about 50,000 people

These U.S.-Vietnamese called "Bedo", meaning "dust of life". Because the biological father is both white and black, their skin color and appearance are also very different. But one thing is the same: almost every -Vietnamese people see the U.S.-Vietnamese mixed race as a national disgrace, as if the emergence of the Vietnam War hybrid made every Drese people feel raped.

"Dust of Life" suddenly became "Golden Child". Robert McKelvey, a former U.S. Marine and child psychiatrist, says wealthy Vietnese people pay for mixed-race Americans and abandon them when they get to the United States.

After the Americans withdrew from Vietnam in 1975, the vast majority of their wives or bridesmaids who remained in Vietnam became single mothers, and the Vietnamese-American mixed-race children were discriminated against by society because they were treated as "enemies" and family members did not even accept them by their mothers.

In order to make their mixed-race children accepted by society, many single mothers hide their children's foreign characteristics as much as possible, such as trying to change the child's skin color, keep their noses down, dye their hair black and so on.
